Requirements Definition

The first step of any project is requirements definition. Defining the scope of what the project requires is critical to the success of the project. We will meet with key individuals throughout the client's company in order to establish a list of high-level attributes that the application has to contain in order to meet the desired business objectives.

This list will include Functional requirements (what needs to happen, Technical requirements (how technology will make these things happen).
A formal Requirements Document will be created and delivered from this list.

Information Architecture

After this, we will create the Information Architecture from the Requirements Document. This is an architectural design of how every feature listed in the Requirements Document will be implemented in the application. Often this architecture will involve the following:

  • Layout Models (the visual layout of the site)
  • Data Models (representation of the data or content objects)
  • Process Models (user interactions with the solution, including Use Cases), and
  • Physical Models (layout of the hardware and software interactions for the site).

Talk Analysis and Definition

Task Definition involves breaking a project into individual tasks. Tasks are actions that are measurable and that can eventually be qualified as 100% completed. Following the Tasks Definition, ITS will build a project plan.

Project Planning

Projects can be managed via either a customer's project manager or our supplied project manager. Either way, a plan is always constructed. The project plan takes the individual defined tasks and assigns them to individuals (task owners), project phases, and milestones (which are used to define when major portions of a project are completed). The mission, vision, goals, and scope of the project are also included in the Project Plan.
